This morning (18th of November), at about 3:00 am, there was a huge explosion in Püspökladány (Hajdú-Bihar county).
An underground gas pipe broke in the outskirts of Püspökladány (Hajdú-Bihar county), and the escaping gas caught fire causing a huge explosion this morning at about 3:00 am. The flames could be seen even in the nearby towns such as Berettyóújfalu and Nádudvar.
Firefighters from Debrecen, Hajdúszoboszló, Karcag, Szolnok, Berettyóújfalu and Szeghalom arrived on the scene soon after the accident and started fighting against the fire. The flames were put out at about 6:00 am. According to the available information, nobody got injured in the explosion.
Main road 42 is blocked by the police, drivers should avoid the affected area.
